Sudden Strike 5 is a real-time tactics game from Kite Games that puts you in charge of massive World War II battles in Europe and North Africa. The 25-mission campaign features historical battles where timing and clever tactics are more important than brute force to win, you'll need to outflank enemy positions, capture strategic reinforcement points, and cut supply lines. You control over 300 authentic units, including 190 types of vehicles and 110 types of infantry from Sherman and T-34 tanks to Messerschmitt fighters. The largest unit count in the series allows for truly large-scale combat. The game emphasizes tactical freedom, allowing you to choose your own approach to achieving objectives through reconnaissance, sabotage, alternative routes, and creative unit combinations.

Commanders with different playstyles offensive, defensive, or tactical have unique combat abilities, such as smoke screens or increased artillery accuracy. Strategic objectives, such as field headquarters and supply depots, become vital trophies, capable of turning the tide of battle in your favor. The camera system allows you to zoom out for a full view of the battlefield or zoom in on the action, giving you complete control over the battlefield. Beyond the campaign, you can test your strategies against AI or real players in PvP matches with varying difficulty levels.
