About The Game

Constance is an indie action-adventure game in which you play as a character using paint-based mechanics to navigate fluid, dynamic surfaces, diving, slicing through the air, and battling enemies. Your primary weapon is a paintbrush, which unlocks new techniques for combat, platforming, puzzle solving, and progression through the game's non-linear, interconnected world, filled with secrets, abilities, upgrades, NPCs, and side quests.

A unique corruption system adds risk to combat: overusing paintbrush techniques degrades your paint, and becoming completely depleted triggers negative effects. During your travels, you'll gather inspiration to sketch in your journal, customize, and expand your abilities by collecting upgrade materials. The game features a unique death mechanic, allowing you to choose between persevering through challenges or retreating to safer points to explore alternative paths. Each vibrant biome represents different aspects of Constance psyche and her journey to mental health, while enemies and characters reflect her personal story. In-game flashbacks explore themes of personal struggle, creativity, work-life balance, and inner purpose, revealing Constance backstory as you explore her inner world.
