About The Game

Trakonius is an action roguelike developed by Edvar Studio that transports you to brutal gladiator arenas, where survival depends on sharp reflexes and wise decisions. You play as Trakonius, fighting in top-down isometric combat, in search of the truth and the elusive end. The combat system is built around mastering dodges and parries against a multitude of enemies who exploit every opening. You have three distinct melee weapons at your disposal, offering different combat styles and strategic approaches. Between battles, you'll spend earned gold at the blacksmith to upgrade your gear and use Gladiator Spirits to unlock permanent abilities that persist between playthroughs.

The progression system combines permanent powers, divine abilities earned through leveling, and temporary upgrades that change the course of each playthrough. Random encounters with various characters create unique playthrough variations—some trigger unexpected events, others sell potions, or offer special challenges. Boss battles test your skills with unique attack patterns, and noble characters offer helpful suggestions along the way. The core gameplay loop requires constant vigilance, as enemies coordinate attacks and punish mistakes, making precise timing through combat mechanics essential to victory.
