About The Game

I have spent maybe twelve hours with Trading Card Shop Simulator this week, which is more than I can say for most games I pick up. It is a management sim from NOSTRA.GAMES, released in 2026. You run a card shop — stock shelves, price cards, deal with customers, manage a budget. The basics are simple enough that I was profitable within an hour, but the competitors keep things interesting once you start expanding.

You start in a cramped room with a handful of booster boxes and barely any shelf space. I undersold my first few rare cards because I did not know any better, and that stung, but it also taught me to actually check market prices instead of guessing. By hour six I was hosting my first tournament and trying to figure out why one regular kept walking out empty-handed. (Turns out he only buys vintage, which I had not stocked yet. Obvious in retrospect.)

The game is not perfect. The customer AI gets repetitive after a while — you see the same requests and reactions looping. The progression curve slows down hard once you have unlocked most of the store upgrades, and there is not much to do in the late game besides waiting for the next big card release. The visuals are fine, the music is fine, nothing about the presentation stuck with me either way.

What kept me coming back is the same thing that keeps me going back to real card shops: the small decisions. Which display gets the best shelf. Whether to hold a card for a regular or sell it to a walk-in. It is not a deep economic simulation, and it does not need to be. If you have ever spent a Saturday afternoon flipping through binders at a card shop, this game understands why.
