The Bookwalker Thief of Tales — the gameplay is divided into two modes, between which you can switch at any time, from the first person perspective in the protagonist’s apartment, where you can craft items in the workshop, open caches, hand over and accept new orders. Isometric in the world of a certain book, where you can explore locations, communicate with characters and solve puzzles in order to find the necessary items. In the game, you can see the main characters hideout, which uses a first-person view.

The player can explore different rooms, solve puzzles, and choose the next book to travel. Among the contracts on the wall, you can see references to the sword of Excalibur, the Ring of Power, a bolter from the Warhammer 40K universe, Van Helsings knife, and so on. Perhaps these are just easter eggs for a demonstration video, but it is possible that some familiar objects from real works will appear in the game. The study of books is carried out in an isometric perspective. The player still needs to find items and solve puzzles. In addition, the hero at any time can wake up and return to the real world, in order, for example, to create a master key to open a locked door. There is even a special book for which the role of a shop with goods is assigned.
