Any representative of evil, if he respects himself enough, needs to build his own nightmarish lair, which is what you need to do in Chambers of Devious Design. The player chooses a room that suits the shape and attaches it to others, thereby expanding his possessions. But the chosen hero is not the only villain who does this. In parallel with it, competitors also decide to join in, and a decent reaction should be given to this. The gamer starts with 1 room, on all sides of which there are doors. Also in Chambers of Devious Design there is a random combination of those that can be used. You can attach new ones only near the entrances that are highlighted. But this can be done from any angle, because the halls themselves often have an irregular shape or a distinctive size.

Some of the cards also impose their own limitations on this process, like a smaller playing field that needs to be used wisely. The rooms in the game are distinguished by their color — type, as well as a small description of what you can do in them. For example, there are kitchens, entertainment, places to store food, and so on. Connected among themselves, they bring points and amplify. They can also grant special skills as an extra move. When it comes to attacking the enemy, this is also done with the help of the building. It is enough to place a cannon at the desired point and direct the shot at the opponent.
