About The Game

Landnama is an exciting strategy game that combines dungeons and city building in a unique way. Drawing inspiration from the historical saga of the first Viking settlers in Iceland in the 9th century, the project immerses gamers in the unforgiving conditions that the pioneers once faced. In Landnama, the participants take on the role of the leader of a clan that has arrived in Iceland and try to establish a thriving settlement before winter arrives. The main goals that the heroes face are the extraction of materials, the construction of structures and the management of the population. But surviving the winter is not the only challenge.

Along the way, users will encounter many events and obstacles that will challenge their skills and make difficult decisions. Here is a unique resource system based on a single element: the Heart. It is the life force, fighting spirit and will of the community. It is developed through various activities such as hunting, farming, handicrafts, and sightseeing. However, it can be exhausted by dangers, catastrophes and winter. Therefore, it is necessary to be wise in spending and receiving a Heart, as a shortage will lead to a sad end to your saga. The work differs from typical Viking games in that there are no battles and violence, and the focus is on survival, the development of technology and the construction of buildings.
