About The Game

Shantae Advance Risky Revolution is a 2D side-scrolling adventure game developed by WayForward that has finally seen the light of day after two decades of development. The story pits the half-genius Shantae against the pirate Risky Boots, who has plotted to turn the entire continent of Sequin Land upside down by arranging coastal towns for easy plunder.

The game’s core mechanic involves manipulating multi-level stages by switching between the «Front Yard» and «Back Yard» playfields, creating new paths and puzzle solutions by rotating the environment. Players control Shantae using her signature hair whip attacks and magical belly dancing transformations that transform her into six different creatures, including a monkey, an elephant, and a crab, each offering unique movement and combat options.

The adventure spans rugged landscapes, displaced towns, monster-infested crypts, and complex mazes filled with collectibles and power-ups. Classic Shantae characters like Rottytops, Skye, and Bolo will appear throughout the journey. In addition to the single-player campaign, the game introduces a four-player competitive Battle Mode for the first time in the series, requiring multiple controllers for local multiplayer.
