About The Game
Thick As Thieves is a stealth action game set in the alternate reality Scottish town of Kilkairn in the 1910s, where magic coexists with early industrial technology. Developed by OtherSide Entertainment under the direction of legendary designers Warren Spector (Deus Ex) and Paul Neurath (Thief series), the game puts you in the shoes of a member of the Thieves Guild, committing heist after heist to steal family heirlooms and uncover mysterious secrets. You can choose from two unique thieves Spider and Chameleon each with unique abilities that influence how you approach missions, whether solo infiltrations or cooperative online co-op.
The core gameplay is built on improvisation and observation as you navigate shadowed streets and rooftops, using gadgets like the Slithersap to disable lights, smoke bombs for a quick escape, and the Pickpocket Fairy for remote interaction. The security layout and guard behavior change as the difficulty increases from Novice to Master Thief, ensuring no two of the 16 missions and two replayable maps are the same. The introductory campaign lasts approximately four hours and consists of three mission types set in heavily guarded landmarks of Kilcairn.
The missions are designed for short, engaging play sessions with high replayability built into the gameplay through evolving equipment and escalating challenges. The game combines classic stealth mechanics with a dynamic environment that constantly forces you to adapt your plans on the fly, whether you're working alone or coordinating with a partner to outsmart the police and uncover the secrets of the aristocracy.
