About The Game
The Scouring is an innovative real-time strategy game that introduces the Action RPG Strategy genre, where you directly control a powerful hero while the AI manages your army, resources, and base building. The game is set in a fantasy world where humans and orcs fight for dominance, and dynamic day-night cycles cause waves of undead enemies to appear after dark, adding survival elements to traditional RTS combat.
Your hero gains experience, collects equipment, and unlocks devastating abilities that can turn the tide of battle, while you explore dungeons for rare items and customize your playstyle with your choice of equipment. The strategic layer involves building bases, managing resources, and commanding armies equipped with magic and cannons in fast-paced battles with dynamic destruction and detailed environments.
The multiplayer game supports up to 8 players in a variety of modes, including team skirmishes, free-for-alls, and ranked matches, allowing for both competitive and custom play. The game places a strong emphasis on user-generated content, with Steam Workshop integration allowing players to create and share custom maps, game modes, and AI scripts that automate strategies. Developed by Orc Group as a project inspired by classic RTS, The Scouring combines the tactical depth of traditional strategy games with the immediate engagement of role-playing games, creating a unique hybrid experience where personal combat prowess and strategic thinking must work in tandem.
