Sacre Bleu puts the player in the role of a musketeer captain, imprisoned on false charges in the Bastille. The key task is to use the blunderbuss not only for battles, but also as the main means of movement. The character fires the weapon to fly between platforms and attack opponents, using time-slowing mechanics for aerial skirmishes. Wielding a blade complements the use of firearms during clashes.

The passage of Sacre Bleu includes navigation through a vast prison location in order to find components for creating an airship, which facilitates the escape of the protagonist. Exploring the levels opens up secret areas with additional content and secrets. The project evaluates effectiveness in combat situations, assigning ranks that directly affect the reduction of the overall run time, stimulating effective gameplay.

Opponents are represented mainly by the French aristocracy, turned into bile-spewing zombies, which creates special combat challenges. The hero will have to fight major bosses connected to a vast conspiracy against France. In addition, the title contains modifiers; activating 2 or 3 significantly changes the gameplay. Streamers can allow their audience to activate these modifiers via chat commands, and the game itself offers options for customizing controls and choosing dialogue fonts.
