About The Game
Morker asks a simple question. What if your shadow was not yours and it wanted your place. This 2026 action horror shooter from solo developer Hannes Bartels follows a protagonist who awakens in a city where every light source flickers and dies. The Morkers, creatures of pure shadow, hunt by extinguishing lamps and bulbs. Your only defense is to keep them lit, using scavenged batteries and fuel. The latest version adds a crafting system that lets you combine batteries, wires, and scrap to create makeshift flashlights and noise makers.
Action sequences are frantic sprints between safe zones, with enemies that can climb walls and emerge from vents. Horror comes from the knowledge that light is finite and every shot wastes precious power. Shooter elements include a revolver that can be charged with a battery for a devastating light burst. You also find audio logs that hint at a way to permanently seal the darkness. The game features multiple endings based on how much of the truth you uncover. With a stark black and white visual style accented by rare color from light sources, Morker is a unique horror experience.
